Bavunio's colors: lapis and gilding
Where Bavunio's colors come from, and the one job each color has in the app.
Bavunio’s colors come from illuminated Qur’an manuscripts. Those manuscripts use lapis blue and gold for ornament and red for marks, on warm paper. We named the color system “Lapis & Gilding”.
One job per color
- Lapis is for actions: the continue button, the current lesson, links.
- Gold is for rewards only: full mastery and Legendary review. Gold never appears on an ordinary button, so when you see it, you earned something.
- Red is for mistakes, and always comes with an icon and a sentence, so the meaning never depends on color alone.
- Green is for correct answers, under the same rule.
Two modes: paper and ink
The light mode uses a paper background, #F6F2E9; the dark mode uses ink, #0F121A. The app follows the device setting, and you can change it in Settings.
Contrast
We tested every text color on its background in both modes. All meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1, and every interface element meets 3:1.
